Same as the back panniers, these are light weight, smaller in size (front Pannier are always smaller) water proof, and extremely durable. Highly recommended brand.
a Front pannier, allows you to divide the weight properly between the front and back for an improved balance and safety feeling.
This is my favorite seat. Brooks is an excellent brand, the beauty about this seat is that once the leather breaks in, it molds to the form of your bum and it is the most comfortable seat in the market for those long hauls. Highly recommended. I like this model because of the springs, giving extra cushion. Normally touring bicycles do not have shocks and this is a good substitute.
I like using pannier covers for extra rain and water protection. The truth is the gotlieb panniers are water proof and would do just fine, but when it rains hard, and I have my iphone and camera in the bags I like to add on cover. This is a definitely needed item if your panniers are not completely water proof.
Women's saddles are a bit wider in the back and shorter, to fit better their physic. Same recommendation as the male version of this seat, once the leather breaks in, it doesn't get any more comfortable than this seat, my wife's has this one and just loves it. This is a must for any tourer or an avid cyclist who wants that extra comfort without losing power or looks of your bicycle.
I swear by my mirror. When you are spending 6-10 hours a day on the bicycle, turning your head all the time gets difficult and tiring. This mirror saves some of those turns, and adds on a lot of safety to your trip. Another big reason of having one, is when you tour with other cyclists and want to make sure your friend is still behind you, holding the pace.
These fenders are great, to protect from water splashing, and from water running down into your shoes on a rainy ride. Touring gets you on your bicycle in many different weather types. Often you would start with a short sleeve shirt and end up with a rain coat and pants,
I like open ended gloves because they allow you to do a lot of things without taking them off. The extra padding on these make them useful on those long rides, and protect you from some of the shock and pressure on your hands.
Extremely important to have a small pump with you at all times, when touring. Some work on your wheels will probably take place most long rides, there is always a hidden nail or glass, lost of air for other reasons, so this one is a must.
I like these shoes alot because they are versatile, you can actually walk a bit with them, they are much more flexible then your standard road bike shoes and yet provide much more power and ease for those long cycling days.
This is my favorite pedal for a touring bicycle. Usually I use my touring bikes also in the city and this pedal allows me to use regular shoes for cycling. When I am going for a longer ride, and using my cycling shoes, I can use them with this pedal. So offers all the versatility one needs!
These are really good to have, they are light, don't damage the tire or the tube and easy to use. A pack of 3 should do the job when you want a quick tube exchange or even when you are gluing the tube.
Cycling shorts provide good cushion and support for your bum, while also provides an aerodynamic pants, very clean and no lose ends, I like the bib because it is loose on the waist line. I wear it without the top part and allow that to just hang out in my back.
