A pair for the day (tinted) and a pair for the night (clear) are ideal, but this isn’t absolutely necessary for the frugal traveller. A good pair of clear goggles will suffice for day and night. That being said we highly suggest making them look as funky as possible) – Check online for cheap goggles. Although cool aviator glasses are awesome, they are pricey ($40+) there’s a chance you might lose them/break them, etc. so comfy and cheap is recommended
Something you can easily attach to your daypack.
This comes in handy when going to different camps that offer drinks and/or at meal times,
a small cheap bowl and spoon are great too for when people from other camps in and around the playa wish to feed you!
Should fit in a good pack of some sort (backpack or fanny pack) to carry your essentials. You MUST have this.
The desert is very dry and you have to drink water all the time. If you’re thirsty you are already dehydrated!!!
The playa is extremely basic and the acidity of the vinegar neutralizes and surprisingly feels really good! Especially on feet.
You can get a bottle at the Dollar Store.
San Fran is a great city, but some things aren’t very accessible so get things like this beforehand if you have space and time.
Although the camp does provide food and some snacks, it’s always nice to have stuff that you crave, especially if/when you get the munchies.
Ex. I brought beef jerky and candy last year cause I have a bad sweet tooth.
Wire, Xmas lights, basically anything that runs on batteries for your nighttime attire is a must!
It’s very dark in the desert and it’s important you bring some form of light to make you visible to cyclists and art cars.
This is SO important for safety! Sew on clothes before hand so it doesn’t bug you and hang down all the time.
So you can wear after you shower after exodus.
The day you leave everything you will have brought to burning man will be dirty, dusty, etc… This little prep will help you leave feeling like a million bucks.
